    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a high-octane-number gasoline base much containing a branched saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon compound and to obtain a high-octane-number gasoline composition that comprises the gasoline base and has a reduced aromatic component and olefin component.
      SOLUTION: The method for producing the gasoline base comprises a first and a second isomerization reaction processes for isomerizing a naphtha fraction, a first and/or a second separation process for separating a first and/or a second isomerization reaction product into a low-octane-number compound group and a high-octane-number compound group, respectively. The low-octane-number compound group is further isomerized by the first or the second isomerization reaction process. A solid acid catalyst having a Hammett's acidity function smaller than -12 is used in the isomerization reaction process. The reaction temperature in the second isomerization reaction process is a temperature ≥10°C lower than that in the first isomerization reaction process at the previous stage. The high-octane-number gasoline composition comprises the gasoline base.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a gasoline base, which efficiently produces a high-octane-number gasoline base abundantly containing a branched saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon and to obtain a high-octane-number gasoline composition that uses the high-octane-number gasoline base but does not much use an aromatic component and an olefin component having high environmental loading.
      SOLUTION: The method for producing the gasoline base comprises an isomerization reaction process for isomerizing a naphtha fraction, a separation process for separating the isomerization reaction product formed in the isomerization reaction process into a low octane number compound group and a high octane number compound group. In the isomerization reaction process, a solid acid catalyst having a Hammett's acidity function smaller than -12 is used. The gasoline composition comprises the gasoline base and has a research octane-number of ≥90, a sulfur content of ≤10 mass ppm, a 50 vol% distillation temperature of ≤100°C, a vapor pressure of ≤65kPa and a straight-chain saturated hydrocarbon content of ≤9 vol%.

      SOLUTION: A refueling device composes a part of a refueling pathway extending from a fuel tank, which stores gasoline loaded on an automobile, to an internal combustion engine. The refueling device is equipped with a separating means and a reforming means connected to the fuel tank and the separating means, respectively, wherein the separating means separates a low-octane-number component having a low octane number from the gasoline and supplies components other than the low-octane-number component to the internal combustion engine, and the reforming means produces a high-octane-number component by increasing the octane number of the low-octane-number component separated by the separating means and supplies the high-octane-number component to the internal combustion engine.
