    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform pull-in operation, for example, in both closing and opening a sliding door while attaining simplification. SOLUTION: A sliding assist mechanism for assisting operation for switching a moving body from a first position on the body side to a second position or from the second position to the first position includes a case 1 mounted to the body side; a first moving member and a second moving member (sliders 2A, 2B) slidably arranged in the case 1; a pair of latches 5, 5 pivoted to the moving members respectively and releasably locked to corresponding parts on the case side; and an energizing means 3 provided between both moving members to energize latch support parts of the respective moving members in mutually approaching directions.
