    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer type image protecting film which has a feel of glossiness obtained through transfer of a protecting layer using a thermal head of the same type performing image formation on a recording medium without producing rainbow colored patterns. SOLUTION: As the main characteristic, the thermal transfer type image protecting film 10 includes a base material with a thickness of 9 to 38 μm. The thickness of the base material 12 of the thermal transfer type image protecting film is thicker than that of a conventional type, so that the thermal energy applied by a thermal head is fully uniformed down to the bonding part between the protecting layer 13 and recording medium body through the thermal dispersion in the base material, and bonding force in thermal transfer is uniformed.
