    • PURPOSE:To enhance performance for erasing toner images, to reduce retouch traces left in the area retouched, and further to reduce whitening phenomenon whitening in the retouched area after retouching, by combining 2 kinds of specified liquid. CONSTITUTION:A white pigment fine powder, such as silica is added to a liquid consisting mainly of a multivalent alcohol poorly dissolving a resin contained in an electrophotographic toner, such as ethylene glycol. Such liquid is coated and acts on the toner image like masking. Diffusion into paper by the poor solvent is small. Next, a good solvent for the resin contained in the above toner is coated. The coated poor solvent hinders the good solvent from diffusing into the paper, resulting in no penetration through the paper, permitting the resin contained in the toner not to be dissolved and the toner fine particles not to be isolated, accordingly, not to penetrate the paper. Thus, retouching traces are not left.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve substantially thin copies by applying calendering to the recording papers after implementing transcription and heat-fixing. CONSTITUTION:Copying machine 15 is provided with a calendering devcice 11. Either crown-roll type or cross-pressing calender is available as calender. When said cross-pressing calender is being used, cross angle is set to be 0.3-3 deg., with the linear pressure is >=30kg/cm . For the recording papers 13, medium thick papers each having high rigidity and 80-90mu thickness are used, so that no jamming takes place in the passage 14. For example, when such paper having 85mu thickness is calendered at cross angle 1.2 deg. with the linear pressure at 40kg/cm , the thickness of said paper turns out to be 60mu. Thus, such thin recording papers can be produced at low cost without requiring any particular mechanism to avoid the jamming, and thus very thin copies are yielded.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the occurrence of curling, etc. and feed paper well with a simple constitution by feeding the intermediate paper comprising coating and drying water-base emulsion of resins on the surface having undergone required treatment or the opposite surface thereof with said surface being faced upward. CONSTITUTION:Impregnating agent layer of toluene solution or the like of urethane resin is formed by the specified amount through coating and drying by heating on the surface of an original. Thence, when the specified amount of 5% waterbase emulsion or the like of silicone resin is coated on said surface or the back thereof and is hot dried, then the intermediate paper of the specified amount of moisture is made. When this paper is fed with the surface having undergone the water-base emulsion treatment being faced upward, then the amount of occurrence of deformations such as curling and waving owing to the change in environmental conditions such as temperature reduces considerably as compared to the case where no emulsion treatment is done. Hence, the good feeding of the intermediate paper may be accomplished by the simple constitution of not requiring temperature control, etc.
