    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To thicken the line width of horizontal lines in a subscanning direction without losing the shape of picture data developed like a bit map and to uniform a line width ratio of vertical lines to horizontal lines. SOLUTION: A picture data processor has a pattern recognition part 41, a memory block 42 and a main scanning counting part 45. The processor recognizes a line shape of a boundary part between a black pixel area and a white pixel area of picture data, generates code information expressing the feature of the recognized line shape, and in the case of selectively correcting and thickening the recognized line shape, whether pixels constituting the line shape are pixels to be thickened or not is discriminated by a part of the code information. In the case of the code information indicating white pixels discriminated as pixels to be thickened and arrayed one line upper or lower a horizontal black pixel line, code information corresponding to a count value obtained from the main scanning counting part 45 is substituted for a part of the code information and corresponding correction data are read out from the memory block 42 by using the substituted code information as an address and outputted. In the image data expanded in the form of bit map, an edge-discriminating means 78 discriminates whether each black dot is a right end dot, a left end dot, an isolated dot or any other dot in the main scanning direction of the image data and according to the discriminated result, and then one part of correction data is determined.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the high resolution change of image data and the amount of data stored in a memory by reading and outputting previously stored correction data with code information generated by a pattern recognizing means as an address. CONSTITUTION:Based on dot information extracted from a window 73, a pattern recognizing part 74 recognizes the features of the target dot, surrounding information and especially the line segment shape of a border between black dots and white dots in image data, and the recognized result is turned to the code information of a decided format and outputted. This information becomes the address code of a memory block 75. With the code information showing which image area the code information outputted from the pattern recognizing part 74 and the respective dots of image data outputted from an image read setting means and extended to the shape of a bit map are positioned in as the address, the previously stored correction data are read out, video data for laser drive are outputted, and these data become corrected dot patterns.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data processor that corrects jaggy of a contour line in image data deployed in a bit map shape for enhancing image quality. SOLUTION: Identical correction data setting means 43 receives a signal from a correction data setting I/F as shown in Figure 11, low-order 12 bits in an address signal (a total of 16 bits) are outputted to a data storage memory as the same address in each memory block 42 of image processing sections 32-1, 32-2, as shown in Figure, when it is being outputted to the data storage memory in each memory block 42 of the image processing sections 32-1, 32-2, and the high-order 4 bits are accessed to addresses 8000-8FFF of the memory block 42 of the image processing section 32-1 from among the memory blocks 42 as the access to all memories and reflected on a chip select signal XCS for decoding, so as to set the same correction data at the same time.
