    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of suppressing decrease in charging property, base contamination or charging failure without inducing increase in a potential of an exposed part even when the photoreceptor is used for a long period of time.SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes at least an intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer successively on a conductive support, in which the intermediate layer is formed by using a coating liquid containing an azo compound expressed by general formula (I): A(E)n. In the formula, A represents a residue of an azo compound and is bonded to n of E groups via one or more hetero atoms; the hetero atoms are selected from a group consisting of N and O and form a part of the residue A; E group each independently represents hydrogen or -C(=O)-O-R, and at least one E is -C(=O)-O-R; and n is an integer of 1 to 10.
