Therefore, the control processor enable arbitrary access to the frame memory 31 and even on the side of the frame processing, the time for buffering to the frame memory 31 is guaranteed. Thus, the speed for communication is improved while keeping the high speed for frame processing.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice data relay method and system for avoiding deterioration in call quality by maintaining a call state before system switching even when having a multiplexing configuration. SOLUTION: The voice data relay method and system are composed so as to relay voice data via a plurality of gateway devices respectively having the multiplexing configuration between a subscriber's telephone and a packet network. One of the gateway devices is set to an operation system and the rest of the gateway devices are set to a standby system. The voice data are transmitted between the subscriber's telephone and the packet network via the gateway device set to the operation system. Replicated data including the same contents as those of the voice data are generated so as to supply them to the gateway devices set to the standby system. The transmission of the voice data includes an operation for transmitting at least a part of the replicated data received by the gateway device set to the operation system during a period when the gateway device set to the operation system is set to the standby system as the voice data.
