    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optimum device layout by which the decreasing effect of temperature difference in the width direction by cooling a sheet is correctly measured and evaluated and to provide a rolling mill and a rolling method by which the shape of the sheet in the state of room temperature is made into a desired shape of the sheet even in the case the temperature difference remains in the width direction. SOLUTION: The rolling mill is provided with: a shape detector 15a for measuring the shape distribution of the sheet on the outlet side of work rolls 11; temperature measuring instruments 21a for measuring the temperature distribution of the sheet in the width direction between the work roll and the shape detector; devices 23a for jetting a coolant on the surfaces of a rolled stock between the work roll and the temperature measuring instrument; wiping devices 24a for removing the coolant on the surfaces of the rolled stock between the coolant jetting device and the temperature measuring instrument; a device 16 for calculating deviation from the target shape in the state of the room temperature on the basis of the measured values of the shape detector and the temperature measuring instrument; devices 17-19 for controlling the shape of the sheet by calculating the controlled variables of mechanical control means 31-33 and the work roll cooling means 20 on the basis of the deviation; and a device 22a for controlling the state of jetting of the coolant jetting device on the basis the measured value of the temperature instrument.
