摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a paper strengthening agent which has excellent perfor mance in improvement of paper strength such as burst index, compression index and Z-axis strength by using a cationic vinyl monomer of a quaternary ammonium salt of a specific vinyl monomer and acrylamide as major starting substances. CONSTITUTION:The subject paper strengthening agent comprises a watersoluble copolymer from (A) 0.5 to 50 mole % of a vinyl monomer quaternary ammonium salt resulting from the reaction of a vinyl monomer bearing a tertiary amino group or its salt with a quaternarizing agent, (B) 0.5 to 20 mole % of alpha, beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid or its salt, (C) 0.0001 to 20 mole % of a cross-linking vinyl monomer, (D) 0.1 to 30wt.% of hydrophobic vinyl monomer, and (E) 10 to 98 mole % of (meth)acrylamide.

The performance of the ink is maintained even in continuous printing and printing of plural patterns and a printed material having uniform and excellent quality can be produced by use of the ink.

An ink composition containing a microcapsule of a hydrophobic organic compound having an arbitrary melting point and containing a methylene dye precursor dissolved in the compound is printed to the coated substrate in the form of a pattern to form printed parts 8, 9. The part other than the printed part is printed with an ultraviolet curable resin 6 and the product is laminated with a transparent plastic film 7. The resultant laminate is irradiated with ultraviolet radiation to effect the bonding and curing of the ultraviolet-curable resin 6. A pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 2 is applied to the back surface of the substrate 3 and a releasing paper 1 is applied to the adhesive layer to obtain the objective label.
