    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for simulating welding torch operation which simulates operation of a welding torch along a welding line even when a complicated shape component etc. is welded, and consequently can provide the operation of the welding torch achieving welding in a state closer to an ideal condition.
      SOLUTION: A plurality of kinds of posture information of the welding torch at respective positions are generated with respect to the ideal reference posture of the welding torch in the respective positions along the welding line to thereby calculate each difference from the reference posture. The amount of a change in the posture of the welding torch is calculated between the positions mutually different on the welding line. The optimum operation information of the welding torch is generated in which the difference from the reference posture is small and the amount of the change in the posture is reduced, based on the differences of the plurality of kinds of posture information of the welding torch from the reference posture and on the amount of the change in the posture. In the same way, the optimum operation information of a positioner is generated.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for creating a piping route capable of efficiently routing piping or wiring, an apparatus for creating linear patterns, and the like.
      SOLUTION: A rectangular parallelepiped containing the starting point R1 and the end point S of a piping route as its apexes is virtually formed and any interference between each side of the rectangular parallelepiped and equipment is detected. If the presence of an interfering object on any side of the rectangular parallelepiped containing the starting point R1 and the end point S as its apexes is detected and if no route extending from the starting point R1 to the end point S without the presence of any interfering object is found, the starting point R1 is shifted to a starting point R2 and so on, so as to virtually form other rectangular parallelepipeds in the same way and detect interference with the equipment. Moreover, sizes by which the starting points R1, R2 and so on are shifted are basically equal to the standard sizes L1, L2 of a straight pipe and the standard sizes L11 and so on of an elbow pipe. When the starting points R1, R2 and so on are shifted in sequence, the direction in which the piping route was extended during the previous process is given the highest priority.
