    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer member adaptable to shock resistance characteristics of a magnetic disk device.
      SOLUTION: The buffer member 13 is provided with: a plurality of first elastic bodies 101 having support surfaces formed therein and first elastic characteristics; and a plurality of second elastic bodies 103 having support surfaces formed therein and second elastic characteristics. A bulged part 21 is formed on the surface of a cover fixed to the magnetic disk device main body, and the kind of an elastic body to be supported may be selected. The first elastic body is, for example, a rubber spring, the second elastic body is an air spring having an air room, and elastic characteristics of the two elastic bodies are different from each other. The buffer member 13 provides a buffer function suited to the magnetic disk device by properly selecting the position and the size of the bulged part.
