Said sodium percarbonate powder used is prepd. by continuously feeding sodium carbonate and an aqueous soln. of hydrogen peroxide to mother liquor contg. sodium carbonate, water and hydrogen peroxide or further contg. a stabilizer such as sodium chloride. Said nonionic surfactant is an adduct of ≥5mol 8W22C straight or branched chain higher alcohol to ethylene oxide.

This mixture is subjected to emulsion plymerization at about 40-120 deg.C in the pH range about 3-9 to prepare a cationic emulsion polymerization product, which is used as a sizing ingredient. About 10-50 wt. % calculated as solid content of the sizing ingredient is blended with a detergent.
