    • PURPOSE: To improve rigidity of an assembly in an extension mast developed in a cosmic space or the like to be assembled by stretching wires between vertexes of tetrahedrons, and compressing ribs to provide a force balanced condition to the assembly. CONSTITUTION: Development of an extension mast is conducted by pressing a main slide hinge 13 and a synchronous slide hinge 15 to be enlarged from each other by a coil apring 17. As distance between hinges 13, 15 is enlarged, distance between a coupler 3a and the hinge 13 on a center rod 12 is increased, but distance between the coupler 3a and another coupler 3b is kept in a constant length by a diagonal member 2, while distance between the coupler 3b and the hinge 13 is kept by length of a rib 14, so a triangle comprising above three vertexes is enlarged, with an angle formed by the rib 14 and the center rod 12 increased. As a result, distance between the coupler 3b and a separate coupler 10 provided on another rib 14 is also increased, thereby a wire 11 is tensed to press the coupler 3 toward the rib 14.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a truss structure which extends by its own power and has a high rigidity by forming a skeleton by coupling between neighboring arbors facing oppositely each other with a rib and a diagonal member urged in the extension direction. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of arbors 10 are so arranged that neighboring ones face reversely each other, ribs 12 other than the ribs 12 being free ends of a structure are coupled to connectors 3 of the neighboring arbors 10, further, the connectors 3 of the arbor 10 are mutually coupled with diagonal members 2 thereby forming a skeleton. And a wire 13 is tensed between connectors 3 of the neighboring arbors 10 in the same direction, between other ends of ribs 12 being the free ends of the structure, and between the other end of this rib 12 and the connector 3 of the arbor 10. Also, the rib 12 is exerted in the extension direction by the coil spring 17 and a synchronous beam 15. By doing this, a light truss structure extending by its own power and having a high rigidity can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a plane-shaped and parabola-shaped truss expansion structure for space allowing to readily execute an expansion function test on ground and to verify an expansion function on an orbit with tolerable exactness through a ground test. CONSTITUTION:A central vertical member 10 and peripheral vertical members 11 are provided at the vertical center of a rectangular solid having square upper and lower surfaces and on vertical ridgelines at four corners, respectively. The upper and the lower end of the central vertical member 10 are connected to the upper and the lower ends of tire peripheral vertical members 11 through horizontal members 12, respectively. The adjoining peripheral vertical members 11 are connected to each other at the upper and the lower ends through crimping materials 1, respectively. A slider 13 provided to the central vertical member 10 is connected to the peripheral vertical members 11 at their upper end parts through slant members 14. A driving control mechanism is provided to slide the slider 13 in the axial direction of the central vertical member 10. In addition, the slider 13 is secured to the central vertical member 10 by means of a lock mechanism at the time of completing expansion.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease the number of hinges for expansion use, to improve the reliability of expansion and to reduce the weight by using frames constituting the reflecting mirror only around the reflecting mirror. CONSTITUTION:The structure is provided with a member 17 in which a tetrahedron being a unit structure has a tilt member 3 and a coupler 4 in common, plural tetrahedrons are coupled so that the direction of adjacent rods 6 is made opposite shown in hatching in figure. A cable net 18 fitted to the coupler 4 by a net mounting metallic fixture 2 on the rear side of the reflection mirror, a tie wire 19 coupling a conductive net 1 and the cable net 18, a conductive net 1 and a terminal reinforcement plate 20 adhered on the circumference of the cable net 18. Then the tetrahedron structure being the unit structure exists only the circumference of the reflection mirror. Thus, number of hinges is decreased, the reliability of expansion is increased and light weight is attained.
