    • PURPOSE:To reduce the extent of bearing loss in an oil lubricated bearing equipped with a means for cooling lubricating oil, by controlling the cooling capacity of this cooling means, and making a temperature of lubricating oil higher within the allowable limit of temperature in a bearing part, thereby lowering a degree of viscosity in the lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:A temperature regulator 52 has a specified temperature reference value, and a temperature detector 51 detects each temperature of a thrust bearing part 2 and a guide bearing part 8. When cooling air passing through an oil cooler 18 is low in temperature and thereby a detected temperature is lower than the temperature reference value, a control signal is issued to a pilot motor 54 from the temperature regulator 52 so as to make the opening of a flow control valve 53 smaller. If so, an amount of lubricating oil 13 being circulated to the oil cooler 18 by means of a self-pump hole 5 is reduced to some extent, and thereby a cooling capacity of the oil cooler 18 becomes lowered. Contrariwise, when temperature in the cooling air is higher, reverse operation to the abovementioned takes place, thus the cooling capacity increases. As mentioned above, since the cooling capacity of the oil cooler 18 is controlled, the lubricating oil 13 will not come to low temperature so unnecessarily, thus oil viscosity is kept low as required.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce pulsating torque component of a generator motor at the intermittently starting time by employing as an inverter of a thyristor drive unit for driving and accelerating the mechanical shaft system of the motor a gate turn-off thyristor. CONSTITUTION:An exciting current is flowed to the exciter 2 of a generator motor 1, an armature current is then flowed from a system through a starting transformer 3, a converter 4, a DC reactor 5, an inverter 6' using as a thyristor element a gate turn-off thyristor and an AC reactor 7 to the motor 1, thereby rotating a flywheel 8 which is coupled directly to the motor 1. The inverter 6' is controlled by detecting the relative positions of the rotor and the stator by a distributor 9. Accordingly, the current interrupting time at the intermittently starting time can be reduced by using a GTO, thereby reducing the pulsating torque component due to passage of resonance point of a mechanical shaft system at the starting time.
