    • PURPOSE:To allow measurement of the size of a work, e.g. a connecting rod, by additionally providing a few of members by providing a clamp mechanism with an elevating member for rotating right and left clamp pieces and a measuring instrument for measuring the movement thereof. CONSTITUTION:Shafts 11, 12 are disposed rotatably below a work mount 10 for mounting a rod side connecting rod W and a pair of clamp pieces 13, 14 are secured to these shafts 11, 12. The clamp pieces 13, 14 are constituted symmetrically and rotated by means of a rotary mechanism. A working plate 29 is moved up and down by means of a cylinder 31 and moves an elevating rod 26 forcibly up and down through a spring 30 and a step part 26a. A clamp mechanism 1 is provided with a measuring instrument 32 for calculating the width of the rod side connecting rod W by measuring the movement of an elevating member 20. The measuring instrument 32 calculates the width of the rod side connecting rod W based on the vertical positions of the measuring rod 3 measured by a sensor 36.

    • PURPOSE:To check the lateral oscillation of the lower end of a connecting rod by providing a regulating mechanism to regulate the dimension of clearance between a pair of holding bars for checking the lateral oscillation of the lower end of the connecting rod when the lower end of the connecting rod takes its position. CONSTITUTION:In the case where the kind of a rod part to be carried is changed, and the dimension of a clearance between holding bars 27, 27 is therefore changed, the telescopic rod 29a of a pneumatic cylinder 29 is contracted to move back a driving rack. Next after a rotary body 37 is rotated by a rotary motor 39 to oppositely position fixed stoppers 38 on the extension of the tip 30a of the driving rack 30, the pneumatic cylinder 29 is driven to extend the telescopic rod 29a. The tip 30a of the driving rack 30 is then abutted against the stopper 38 to move the driving rack 30 to a fixed position. Thus the quantity of rotation of a driving shaft 32 is thereby decided, and bosses 36, 36 threadedly engaged with a female thread part 32a formed in mutually inverse thread form are moved to regulate a space between a pair of holding bars 27, 27.
