    • PURPOSE: To prevent collision of a lifeboat with a depot ship during towing, by a method wherein, when a locking cable, stretched over between the center of the bow part of the lifeboat and the side of the depot ship, is connected to a towing cable stretched from the depot ship, the length of the locking cable set to a value between said connection and the center of the bow is set to a value longer than the length of the locking cable between the connection and the side of the depot ship.
      CONSTITUTION: A locking cable 18 is stretched over between the central forward end 19 of the bow part of a lifeboat 2, which can be lowered from a depot ship, and a side part 20 facing the depot ship side. Meanwhile, a towing cable 12, having the base end mounted to the depot ship and the other end attached to the middle part of the locking cable 18, is stretched. A connecting position 23 allowing the towing cable 12 to be connected to the locking cable 18 is set such that length L
      1 of a cable between the position 23 and the central forward end 19 of the bow part is longer than length L
      2 of the cable between the position and the side. After the lifeboat 2 lands on the water from the depot ship, it is towed as it is, and this enables the lifeboat 2 to be automatically departed from the depot ship, and permits prevention of collision of the lifeboat with the depot ship during towing.

    • PURPOSE:To enable to keep a propeller submersed under the water at all times even under the condition that the diameter of the propeller is made larger than usual by a structure wherein the propeller is provided at the rear part of a space lying between right and left struts. CONSTITUTION:A pair of or right and left lower hulls 10 are submersed below the surface of the water and connected to an upper hull 11 by means of the struts 12 and further connected to each other by means of a horizontal connecting member 14. The propeller 22 is provided between the right and left struts 12 and mounted to supporting members 19. A rudder 15 is provided at the rear of the propeller 22. An engine is provided within the lower hull 10 in order to drive the propeller 22 by means of gears or the like. Due to the configuration that the propeller 22 is arranged between the struts 12 of the semisubmersible vessel, the propeller 22 can be submersed at all times even under the condition that the diameter of the propeller 22 is made larger than usual and consequently its propulsion efficiency is improved.
