    • PURPOSE: To simplify the circuit constitution and to obtain the FM and AM receiver having excellent temperature characteristics by sharing a detecting circuit, etc., provided behind an intermediate frequency amplifying circuit between FM reception and AM reception.
      CONSTITUTION: An FM receive signal is converted by a mixing circuit 3 to an intermediate frequency of 10.8MHz and inputted to an intermediate frequency amplifier IC from a terminal 1. An AM receive signal is converted by a mixing circuit 43 to an intermediate frequency of 0.45MHz and inputted to a terminal 2 of an IC. In the IC, the FM intermediate frequency signal is amplified 5∼8 and frequency-divided by a frequency divider 9 to 0.45MHz. Therefore, the FM intermediate frequency is equal to the AM intermediate frequency in the IC and a quadrature detector 11 connected subsequently is used in common, thereby simplifying the circuit constitution. The audio output of the detector 11 is inputted to a stereophonic demodulating circuit 13 and a stop signal generating circuit 14 through LPF12 and a right and a left stereophonic signal are outputted from the circuit 13. The circuit 14 outputs a stop signal to a controller 31 at a digital tuning point.

    • In an FM stereo demodulator, a detector circuit for detecting a low supply voltage is used. The detection level of this detector circuit is made substantially equal to a supply voltage value at the time when the oscillation frequency of an oscillator circuit for reproducing a subcarrier signal begins to change. The stereo reproduction of the demodulator is compulsorily switched to monaural reproduction by an output from the detector circuit. As a result, the generation of an abnormal sound which is attributed to the beat between the reproduced subcarrier signal having fluctuated and a subcarrier signal component of a received broadcast signal is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the current supply ability of an AGC voltage generating circuit while setting an AGC operation start level precisely, by controlling the extent of attenuation of the output signal of an amplifying transistor (TR) through a transistor (TR) and an impedance means. CONSTITUTION:According to a rise in AGC voltage, the collector-emitter saturation resistance rCS of a TRQ1 is reduced to attenuate a received signal to an RF amplification stage, thus performing AGC operation. A voltage drop across a resistance R1 by the base current of the TRQ1 is utilized starting approximately at the point the collector-emitter saturation resistance rCS reaches a minimum value according to a rise in the AGC voltage, thereby turning on a TRQ2. The collector of the TRQ2 is connected to the drain of an amplifying TRF1 through a capacitor C8 in terms of alternating current, so it operates in a saturation region. Therefore, the gain of the RF amplifier decreases as the collector-emitter saturation resistance rCS of the TRQ2 decreases, performing the AGC operation.

CONSTITUTION:The oscillation frequency of the VCO7 of a PLL type stereophonic demodulator is set N times as high as a subcarrier frequency, and then divided by frequency dividers 101 and 102 to the subcarrier frequency, and the result is further divided by a frequency divider 9 and inputted to a phase comparator 4. The output of the frequency divider 102 is supplied to a waveform shaping circuit 104 to generate a sampling signal with short pulse width, which is switched as prescribed by switching circuits 106 and 108 and held by holding amplifier 110 and 112, whose outputs are inputted to mixers 113 and 114. The output of the frequency divider 101 is multiplied by a composite signal through analog multiplying circuits 105 and 107, and the resulting signals are inputted through LPFs 109 and 111 to the mixers 113 and 114; and the outputs of the LPFs and those of the amplifiers 110 and 112 are operated by gain adjustment, thus canceling beats.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the pop tone appeared at an output terminal, by locating a muting element producing pop tone before a leakage filter, in a muting circuit of an FM stereophonic radio receiver. CONSTITUTION:A composite signal being an output of a detector inputted to a stereophonic demodulator 7 of an FM stereophonic radio receiver is demodulated into left and right signals and inputted to an amplifier 8, and the output is applied to a filter 9 via resistors R18, R19 constituting the input impedance of a leakage filter. Taking the values of the resistor R18, R19, equal as a half of a resistor R15, pop tone produced at a muting transistor 17 controlled with a muting control circuit 102 is 2/3 at an output terminal 20 to be almost halved. The attenuation of a signal is -49.5dB and the attenuation when muting is operated is at -47dB, which gives deterioration of only 2.5dB, indicating almost no effect.
