    • PURPOSE:To improve the image recognition accuracy of a component by providing a background plate which reflects light incident from a flank irregularly and projects the light from the reverse surface by the scattering and a lighting means which makes the light incident on the background plate sideward so that the axis of a suction nozzle is perpendicular at the periphery of a component suction head. CONSTITUTION:The background plate 23 which is positioned at the periphery of the upper part of the electronic component suction nozzle 8 is provided at the lower end of the electronic component loading head 7, the light source 19 for lighting is supported on a stationary member (not shown in figure) almost by the background plate 23, and a shield plate 20 irradiates only the side part of the background plate 23 with light. The background plate 23 is in a circular reflecting surface 24 and reflects the light from the light source 19 irregularly to transmit the light downward, thereby irradiating the component 9 form its reverse side. Therefore, when the component 9 is viewed through an image pickup camera 11, the background plate 23 has a bright uniform background colored in, for example, a daylight color and an image the compo nent 9 is picked up as a clear black silhouette with the background plate 23 for the background.

    • PURPOSE:To confirm a component attaching accuracy substantially similar to that of a single head, by a method wherein in both an inspection station and a component attaching station, difference vectors of position vectors of respective heads with respect to respective positioning reference points are previously obtained, and a position correction value characteristic to each position of the head is set. CONSTITUTION:An electronic component 8 is sucked to the head section of a head 7 in a such station 2. In this connection, it is assumed that an error P2 exists between the center position of the component 8 and a positioning reference line 2-2. When the head 7 reaches a rough positioning station 3, a rough positioning device corrects the position of the component 8 to decrease the position error to P3. Next, in reaching an inspection station 4, the image of the component 8 is picked up by means of a camera 9 which is disposed on a positioning reference line which is approximately located just under both the head 7 and the component 8. The image applied to the camera 9 is then focused on an image pickup device 10, and the displacement in the position of the component 8 from a reference vertical line in the inspection station 4 is observed on the basis of both a predetermined electrical processing and a mathematical operation to obtain a displacement of P4 in value. Finally, in an attaching station 5, the head 7 is moved downward, and then attached to a board 11 to which components are to be attached with a decreased error P5.

    • PURPOSE:To detect a groove position with good accuracy, by a method wherein evaluation for detecting the groove position is performed on the basis of a light cut image when slit light is allowed to irradiate in arbitrary quantity of light and, when the evaluation is improper, the quantity of the slit is regulated. CONSTITUTION:The lines H1-H2, H2-H3 of a light cut image 9a show the light cut image of the upper surface of a welding base material 4. Coordinates axes (u), (v) respectively show the horizontal and vertical axes of an observing optical system 8. Herein, the addition value of the density values of picture elements in the horizontal direction is calculated at every picture element in the vertical direction to obtain not only the max. value Bmax and min. value Bmin but also the intermediate value Bw of both values. When the average brightness of the light cut image is set to Bav and the upper and lower limits thereof are set to BT2, BT1 and formulae I, II are satisfied, a desired groove following position is operated from the light cut image data preliminarily inputted and stored. When either one of the formulae I, II is not satisfied, the property of the density pattern of the light cut image is classified, for example, into three kinds and the irradiation quantity of the light of an irradiation optical system 3 is controlled corresponding to the property of each density pattern to perform the detection of the groove position.
