    • PURPOSE:To minimize the number of component parts and to miniaturize a color picture input device by using an electrochromism element to a color separating filter with variation of the voltage impressed to said electrochromism element and therefore changing the spectrum of the transmitted light. CONSTITUTION:When color information R, G and B are read in the form of electric signals, an original 2 is irradiated a white light source 1. Then the reflected light of the original 2 is transmitted through a color separating filter 3 using an electrochromism element. The voltage impressed to the electrochromism element is varied in three steps. As a result, the transmitted beams 8 of R, G and B are obtained and a photodetecting sensor 4 detects the spectrum intensity of these beams 8. This spectrum intensity is converted into electric signals.

    • PURPOSE: To compress color picture information sharply by converting and compressing three-dimensional color picture information consisting of R, G and B into two-dimensional color picture information consisting of lightness information V and hue information H.
CONSTITUTION: Color picture signals separated into R, G and B are inputted to an A/D converter 3 through picture signal input terminals 201∼203 respectively. The converted digital color signals are inputted to a converter 4 and an arithmetic circuit forms two digital signals consisting of the lightness information V and hue information H from three signals R, G, B and the two digital signals are temporally stored in a register and then outputted to a lightness information compressor 5 and a hue information compressor 6 respectively. The lightness information V and the hue information H compressed by respective compressors 5, 6 are synthesized as one color information synchronously with a transmission control part 7 and the synthesized signal is sent to a transmission line 8.

    • PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of a color information reading part by changing a voltage applied to a double refraction liquid crystal cell to separate selectively and take out spectrums of the transmitted light corresponding to color information R, G, and B.
CONSTITUTION: A double refraction liquid crystal cell 10 is used as a color separating filter 4. For the purpose of reading color information R, G, and B as electric signals, an original 2 is irradiated with a white light source 1, and its reflected light 7 is separated into R, G, and B by the color separating filter 4 using the double refraction liquid crystal cell 10 and is detected as the intensity of a transmitted light 8 by a light receiving sensor 5 and is converted to an electric signal. Since only the voltage applied to the double refraction liquid crystal cell 10 is controlled to facilitate separation into monochromic lights R, G, and B, the while light source 1 can be used as the light source, and only one light receiving sensor 5 is required, and the device structure is simplified and is made small-sized.

    • PURPOSE:To display a high quality picture by electrostatic recording, and also to execute easily copying by forming an electrostatic latent image inverting left and right on the outside of a transparent dielectric sheet made adjacent to develop. CONSTITUTION:A transparent dielectric sheet 11 extended to rollers 2, 3 is made parallel and adjacent to each other by rollers 2', 3'. A left and right inverted electrostatic latent image C formed on the sheet 11 by a write electrode 4 is developed by a developing device 5 to obtain a toner visible image D. The image D is an inverted image, but when it is seen from a display part 8, namely, the direction as indicated with an arrow of a thick line, it comes to be seen from the rear side of the image D through two transparent sheets 11 to obtain a display picture of an erect image. In case of obtaining a copy, the image D is transferred to paper 9 by using a transfer device 10. Since the image D is an inverted image, the transfer image obtains an erect image, and a normal recording.

    • PURPOSE:To improve expressing performance for half-tone and to perform half- tone recording with fidelity by controlling the diameter of a laser beam spot on the surface of a photosensitive body to record in responding to the density with which the recording is performed. CONSTITUTION:A filter 13 having an increasing transmitance rate toward the center part is installed between a laser diode 11 and a rotary polygon mirror 14, and the intensity of a laser beam outputted by the laser diode 11 is converted into a beam having the distribution corresponding to the density signal of recording information. This beam is reflected by the rotary polygon mirror 14 to scan on the photosensitive body 16 through an Ftheta lens 15, writing the recording information. Only a beam with light intensity larger than a specific slice level Lth operates effectively on the photosensitive body 16, so beam spots with different diameters corresponding to the light intensity distribution, e.g. B1-B3 are formed.

    • PURPOSE:To enable to record with a color gradation approximate to that of natural colors, by a method wherein ink droplets jetted from a plurality of nozzles having difference aperture diameters for each ink are superposed on each other on a paper, and the number of ink droplets jetted into a unit area is simultaneously controlled. CONSTITUTION:In a charge quantity control type ink jet color printer for printing in four colors of yellow, cyan, magenta and black, a plurality (three, in the figure) of nozzles 1a-1c having different aperture diameters are provided in ink nozzle parts 1-4 for each color, ink droplets having different diameters are jetted from the nozzle parts 1-4, a fixed electric charge is imparted to the ink droplets by charging electrodes 5, and the droplets are deflected by deflecting electrodes 6 impressed with a fixed high voltage. The ink droplets must be electrically charged for each of dots having different particle diameters. Therefore, the charging electrodes 5 are provided for each of the ink nozzles ports 1a-1c, and electrical charging is conducted by selecting the droplets so as to obtain the same phase.

    • PURPOSE:To maintain the comparatively high picture quality despite reduction of number of gradations and to attain transmission of moving pictures with a narrow band, by using a receiver having a display screen with reduction of its physical size. CONSTITUTION:For a transmission side device 10, the gradation information is reduced from the picture information fed through a TV camera 11 by a gradation information reducing part 12. The part 12 suppresses the gradation corresponding to the light intensity supplied through the camera 11 by 1-3 bits for each picture element. Then the picture informaton is coded by a coder 13 and stored to a frame memory 14. The contents of the memory 14 are transmitted to a reception side device 16 via transmission line 15 of a narrow band. The device 16 decodes the received picture information stored in a frame memory 17 by a decoder 18 and therefore restores the moving pictures. These restored pictures are delivered and displayed at a display part 19. In this example, the deterioration of mental satisfaction due to reduction of the gradation information can be compensated by reducing the physical size of the screen of a display part 19 of the device 16.
