    • PURPOSE:To measure the end curvature of a long object of measurement such as a pipe in a production line by providing plural line sensor cameras in the feed direction of the object of measurement and measuring the center line of the object of measurement. CONSTITUTION:The pipe 1 is conveyed by a feed roller 2 and line sensor cameras 3-6, and 7-10 which face up and down respectively are provided in the conveyance direction of the pipe 1. Further, a reference holding plate 11 is provided between the pipe 1 and cameras 7-10, holes 13-16 are board therein, and a lighting lamp is incorporated to indicate a reference line. Similarly, a reference holding plate 12 is provided between the pipe 1 and cameras 3-6. The cameras 3-6 and 7-8 are directed to the pipe 1, whose image is picked up sideways at distance (z) to detect the center line of the pipe 1; and the detected center line is compared with the reference line to detect the end curvature. Thus, the detection is carried out by using the plural sensor cameras, so the end curvature of the pipe is measured in the production line.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the dimensional accuracy in thickness by finding the quantity varied from the target outer diameter with specified equation according to the actual thickness deviation of the tube stock after a plug mill rolling and by correcting the tube expansion quantity of the reeling mill based thereon. CONSTITUTION:The tube stock after a plug mill rolling is reduced by rolling with the rolling rolls 10, 10' including its axial line in reverse direction each other and a rolling plug 13. The informations of a material temp. T, rolling torque Trq and the informations of the tube stock thickness tp before reeler rolling, outer diameter Dp are inputted into a control arithmetic unit 21. The actual thickness size deviation DELTAtp of after the plug mill is then found for the predetermined rolling schedule. Further a correction signal is inputted into a rolling reduction control device 19 with finding the correction value of the expansion by the reeler according to the equation I together with the outer diameter Ds of after sizing and thickness ts. With said method the size accuracy in thickness is improved.
