    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus which can obtain a high quality coating film with thickness nonuniformity remarkably suppressed and a coating method using the apparatus.
      SOLUTION: A coating gap regulating means regulating a coating gap on one side is arranged to face a roller regulating the coating gap on the other side. The position of the coating gap regulating means is made movable in the direction to change the coating gap by a moving means. The distance between the coating gap regulating means and the roller is detected by a distance detecting means. A control quantity is calculated on the basis of the distance by a control means. The moving means is operated on the basis of the control quantity by an operation means so that the coating gap regulating means is moved to make the coating gap a prescribed gap. Namely, a feedback control system is incorporated in the coating apparatus and the coating method.

      SOLUTION: The rotary shaft of a roller regulating a coating gap on one side is supported by a magnetic bearing which can operate a rotation center. The distance between a coating gap regulating means arranged to face the roller to regulate the coating gap on the other side and the peripheral surface of the roller is detected by a distance detecting means. A control quantity is calculated on the basis of its distance by a control means. The rotation center of the magnetic bearing is operated on the basis of the control quantity by an operation means, and the coating gap is made a prescribed coating gap. Namely, a feedback control system is incorporated in the coating apparatus and the coating method.

After finishing of the pinching operation, a small bundle pinching portion 13 is pulled up by a cylinder for elevation 16, and a taking out operation of the small bundle (t) is finished. A series of this operation is repeated to take out the small bundle (t) in the cassette in order.
