    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method for an input means having an electrostatic sensor which can surely perform reduced power consumption operation, with this method being suitable for intermittent driving having superior response and needs only a very short time for a start up, when the electrostatic sensor is in a suspended state. SOLUTION: The driving method for the input means, having the electrostatic sensor, comprises a clock signal generating means 2 for generating the clock signal, a delay means 6 which generates a delay signal giving delays to the start of the clock signal according to a detected electrostatic capacity, when a human body in a proximity or contacts with the electrostatic sensor 5, an AND means 3 which outputs an output signal by inputting the clock signal and the delay signal, a smoothing means 7 which smoothes the output of the AND means 3 and outputs it. When the human body makes contact with the electrostatic sensor 5 and the sensor starts the operation from the suspended state which does not output the clock signal, the pulse length of the clock signal, generated initially from the clock signal generation means 2, is extended into a length which is needed for obtaining the targeted output of the smoothing means 7.
