SOLUTION: A sports shoe includes the upper U having a first opening 1 surrounding the instep of the foot and allowing the foot to project upward in putting on the shoe and a second opening 2 closed by a tongue piece T. Both openings 1, 2 are connected to each other, and the upper U is provided with an inside stretchable part 51 covering a part of the inner surface of the plantar arch of the foot, an outside stretchable part 50 covering a part of the outer surface of the hypothenar of the foot, a front part 3 disposed at the front of both the stretchable parts 50, 51, and a rear part 4 disposed at the rear thereof. The stretchable parts 50, 51 cross one side face of the upper U starting at the upper surface of a sole S to the second opening 2. The Young's Modulus of the stretchable parts 50 and 51 in the foot longitudinal direction L is set smaller than the Young's Moduli of the front part 3 and the rear part 4.
