    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire-extinction curtain which shows excellent fire-extinction properties against flames and can be used not only as a fire-extinction implement at early fire extinguishment but also as a fire-preventing implement for body protection in the flames.SOLUTION: The fire-extinction curtain is composed of a fabric made by mixed spinning, combined plying, combined weaving and/or combined knitting of modacrylic fiber with a heat resistant fiber or a nonflammable fiber. In addition, the fire-extinction curtain is composed of the fabric made of the modacrylic fiber whereon a coating of a silicone compound is formed. Besides, the fire-extinction curtain is composed of the fabric made of the modacrylic fiber to which metal compound particles causing water discharge due to pyrolysis accompanied by heat absorption are fixed by the medium of the coating of the silicone compound, the heat resistant fiber, and/or the nonflammable fiber.
