摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stacked film threshold component, a device, and a method of manufacture.SOLUTION: A component includes a micro-hologram layer (10), and the micro-hologram layer (10) includes layers (14) inert to light and interleaved with functional film layers (12). The functional film layers (12) are made of a material that undergoes a change in its refractive index when illuminated by a light beam, yet undergoes no change in its refractive index when illuminated by a different light beam. The component (30) may further include spacer films (20) interleaved with the multiple micro-hologram layers (10), and other elements (e.g., servo layer (44), coatings (48), and the like (40, 42)) so as to constitute a data storage device (100). Methods of manufacturing the component and the device are also disclosed.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mount packaging structure that yields improved thermo-mechanical reliability.SOLUTION: The surface mount packaging structure comprises a sub-module having: a dielectric layer; semiconductor devices attached to the dielectric layer; a first level metal interconnect structure electrically coupled to the semiconductor devices; and a second level I/O connection electrically coupled to the first level metal interconnect structure and formed on the dielectric layer on a side opposite the semiconductor devices, with the second level I/O connection configured to connect the sub-module to an external circuit. The semiconductor devices of the sub-module are attached to the first surface of a multi-layer substrate, with a dielectric material positioned between the dielectric layer and the multi-layer substrate structure to fill in gaps in the surface-mount structure and provide additional structural integrity to the surface-mount structure.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an erosion and corrosion resistant coating for an exhaust gas recirculation based gas turbine.SOLUTION: A compressor blade for use in a compressor section of a gas turbine engine includes: a martensitic stainless steel compressor blade; and an abrasive coating having an anodic component. The compressor blade has a blade portion, a dovetail portion and a platform portion intermediate the blade portion and the dovetail portion, the blade portion terminates in a tip opposite the dovetail portion. A cobalt-based coating overlies at least the blade portion of the compressor blade. The cobalt-based coating includes: a cobalt based material that includes precipitates of tungsten carbide that provide erosion resistance; and particles of a sacrificial metal-based material distributed through the cobalt-based coating that provide galvanic corrosion resistance to a system.
