摘要： PURPOSE:To alleviate an impact to be transmitted to a drive system of an amphibious vehicle using a rotary cylindrial floater with a blade by connecting the floater and a drive shaft via a flexible plate. CONSTITUTION:A cavity 11 is formed at the rear end of a rotary cylindrical floater 1 with a blade. A star-shaped flexible plate 10 is secured to a flange 12. A drive shaft 13 is secured to the plate 10, and the floater 1 is connected to a drive unit 6. With this structure, an impact of the floater 1 produced when a vehicle E runs on an ice sheet can be absorbed by the flexure of the plate 10. Accordingly, the shaft 13 can be protected against the impact.

CONSTITUTION:In an icebreaker equipped with the Archimedian screw 1 to the bow, the barrel 9 of the Archimedian screw 1 is made slender toward the end, the lead angle alpha of the blade 8 against the barrel axis 9 is made constant and the pitch R of the blade 8 is made smaller toward the end. Such configuration allows the end of the Archimedian screw surely to engage with the ice plate without skidding and the bow portion of the hull can be easily pulled up on the ice plate.

摘要： PURPOSE:To positively prevent the freezing of ballast water at low energy cost, by employing warm seawater used for cooling the cooling water of a main engine as the ballast water of a ballast tank. CONSTITUTION:Seawater is supplied to a ballast tank 13 through a ballast duct 14, and a ballast pump 15 and a valve 16 are mounted to the ballast duct 14. When valves 10, 18 are opened, valves 20, 11, 16 are closed and a pump 3 is started, warm seawater, which is heat exchanged with cooling fresh water at a cooler 5 and which temperature rises, is sent into the ballast tank 13. If setting the valves 20, 18 to opening and the valves 10, 11, 16 to closing, a circulation duct containing the ballast tank 13, the seawater feed pump 3 for cooling and the cooler 5 is formed, seawater in the ballast tank is temperature raised and the freezing can be prevented.

CONSTITUTION:A distance LB up to a starting point M of the widest portion of a hull from stem FR in a rectilinear propagation draft WL1, a draft of normal sailing, and height H from the rectilinear propagation draft WL1 of projections are each made to be LB=0.27Lpp-0.34Lpp and H Lpp=0.0125-0.025. The projections 2, 2 are mounted to a broadside of a stem portion so that the ship widest portion in a turning draft of the stem portion be included. Consequently, ice is broken by utilizing the stem portion when rectilinear propagation sailing, and ice is broken by the projections mounted to the stem portion by adjusting draft to the turning draft when turning, thus obtaining wide open sea surfaces, then allowing smooth turning.
