    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable electrocardiograph (ECG) lead wire connector incorporating a patient safety characteristic and a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag characteristic.SOLUTION: An ECG lead wire connector 10 is designed by a method that can manufacture an ECG lead wire assembly in quantity at low cost, using standard continuous Web service-based processing steps and materials. An integrated-type ECG lead wire connector is assembled by the same printing process and lamination process as those used for building the remaining part of the lead wire assembly. The patient safety requirements are satisfied by the physical dimensions and dielectric insulation characteristic thickness of connector electrical contacts for preventing unexpected contact with potentially hazardous electric potentials while making it possible for connector pins 20 to come into contact with lead wire conductors. The connector is made compatible with a number of lead wire configurations and integrated with an RFID tag which can be identified and authenticated when used.
