摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound which is an intermediate for dyes, near infrared ray absorbers, etc., in high purity and yield by further adding a thiosulfuric acid compound as a reaction reagent in reacting an aromatic polyhalogenated compound with a hydrosulfide in the presence of sulfur and iron powder, etc. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic polyhalogenated compound is reacted with a hydrosulfide (preferably sodium hydrosulfide or potassium hydrosulfide) in the presence of sulfur and iron powder or iron salts in a polar organic solvent (dimethylformamide is especially preferred) by further adding a thiosulfuric acid compound as a reaction reagent thereto to afford the objective compound. Sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate is especially preferred as the thiosulfuric acid compound and used in a molar amount within the range of preferably at least >=0.1, especially 0.2-2 times based on the aromatic polyhalogenated compound. Normal sulfur powder is used as the sulfur and normal iron powder, etc., iron chloride, etc., are used as the iron powder and iron salts.

In the process, one or more metals selected from Bi, Tl, Cd, Ce and La and/or compounds thereof are added in an amount of 200-50000ppm and used as a catalyst to remarkably reduce the amount of the aforementioned metals used and simultaneously improve reaction rate and reduction efficiency. Thereby, the objective compound is efficiently obtained in high purity and yield.
