    • PURPOSE:To obtain an image having high quality without the injury on the surface of a photosensitive layer by consisting a titled developer of a magnetic carrier and magnetic toner essentially consisting of a non-linear polyester resin of which the melt viscosity at 180 deg.C is in a 10 -10 poise range. CONSTITUTION:This developer for developing electrostatic charge images consists of the magnetic carrier and the magnetic toner essentially consisting of the non-linear polyester resin of which the melt viscosity at 180 deg.C is in the 10 -10 range and magnetic powder. The non-linear polyester resin having 100-150 deg.C softening point and >=50 deg.C glass transition point is preferable in terms of fixability, offset resistance and shelf life. The non-linear polyester resin of which the melt viscosity at 180 deg.C is in the 10 -10 range is preferably used. The resin is liable to be pulverized and therefore the toner surfaces are not made round if the melt viscosity is poise. On the other hand, kneading is difficult and the shelf stability is lower if the melt viscosity exceeds 10 poise.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain stable pictures even in case of continuous copies by subjecting the surface of toner particles relatively large in size to a prescribed insulating processing and making the insulating property of surfaces of toner particles having a relatively small particle size lower than that of said toner particles to develop both toners uniformly. CONSTITUTION:A fine hydrophobic powder is added to the toner having a large particle size out of toners having prescribed particle size distributions, and the quantity of charging of this toner is so adjusted that it is matched to a system. For the purpose of making the quantity of charging of the classified toner having a small particle size equal to or slightly larger than that of said toner having a large particle size, the quantity of the added silica is reduced or the quantity of added fine alumina powder having a low charging property is reduced or a conductive fine powder such as carbon black or the like is added. Two kinds of toner which are processed in this manner are mixed to average the quantity of charging per unit weight of individual particles.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an image of high quality even under low humidity by bringing an electric member into contact with the reverse side of a transfer sheet to reduce an amt. of electrostatic charge when humidity is low, and then, transferring a toner image on the sheet. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 8 is moved up and down by a means driven in accordance with a signal delivered from a humidity sensor, not illustratrate here, and when humidity drops below a set value, it is allowed to touch the reverse side of the transfer sheet 6. Transfer voltage is set so as to achieve the max. transfer efficiency under the atmosphere of high temp. and high humidity, such as 35 deg.C 80% RH, and when humidity drops to, e.g., 60% RH, or lower, the electrode 8 touches the sheet 6. An amt. of charge of the sheet 6 raised due to low humidity is lowered by the contact of the electrode 8, thus permitting a charge amt. of the sheet 6 even under low humidity to be lowered to an extent same as the case of high humidity, and deterioration of transfer efficiency to be prevented.
