The exciting coil 3 is arranged an offset distance d from an electrode position, wherein the electrode position is a plane PLN including the electrode 2a, 2b perpendicular to the direction of a measurement pipe axis PAX.

SOLUTION: The magnetic induction flow measurement method measures the flow rate of a medium flowing in a measuring tube. The measuring tube has two measuring electrodes arranged along connecting lines which extend at least practically vertically to the axis of the measuring tube, and magnetic fields which extend at least practically vertically to the axis of the measuring tube and the connecting lines for the measuring electrodes, are formed. To find the flow rate of a medium flowing in the measuring tube, voltages with respect to a reference potential is taken out by one or both measuring electrodes respectively. In this type of measurement, flow measurement operation is started immediately after an increasing flow rate is detected.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure flow rate even if viscosity of a fluid changes much, with rectifying capability provided to itself. SOLUTION: An inner wall surface 1A at the central section of a cylindrical measurement pipe path 1 swells into the profile of 1/4 ellipse (first-half shape 1A1) in the flow direction of a fluid (direction of arrow A (positive direction)), and retracts into the profile of 1/4 ellipse (second-half shape 1A2) in the flow direction of the fluid from a most protruded point. So, if a fluid of disturbed stream line is made to flow at a throat part 1D of the measurement pipe 1, circular flow and drift, etc., are corrected, thus such rectifying effect is provided as if the fluid has passed a long straight pipe distance. SOLUTION: The current meter is provided with a detector 1 which is arranged in a conductive liquid and a controller 2. The controller 2 judges whether the detector 1 is situated in the liquid on the basis of the conductor resistance measured by the measuring parts 10A, 10B, it executes the measurement of the flow velocity and/or the flow direction by the measuring parts 9A, 9B when the detector is situated in the liquid, and it stops the measurement of the flow velocity and/or the flow direction by the measuring parts 9A, 9B when the detector is not situated in the liquid.
