    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which can prevent runaway proceeding of a reaction in manufacturing a reaction product in a plate type reactor and manufacture the reaction product with high productivity. SOLUTION: The plate type reactor includes a reaction container, two or more heat-transfer plates 2 aligned in the reaction container and a heat medium supplying device 5 supplying a heat medium of a desired temperature to a heat-transfer tube 1 of the heat-transfer plate 2. The designed distance between the surfaces of the heat-transfer plates 2 in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the clearance between the heat-transfer plates 2 is 5-50 mm, and the difference in measured distances between the surfaces of the heat-transfer plates 2 with respect to the designed distance is -0.6 to +2.0 mm. The plate type reactor is configured by connecting the heat-transfer tube 1 with the heat medium supplying device 5, with the heat-transfer plates 2 arranged at the designed intervals. A heat medium whose temperature is controlled so that the peak temperature of a catalyst layer comprising a catalyst contained between the heat-transfer plates 2 is at a value set on designing is supplied to the heat-transfer tube 1.
