    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solvent for a nonaqueous electrolyte solution of a lithium secondary battery which enables production of a highly safe lithium secondary battery which has specifically excellent discharge capacity, rate characteristics and cycle characteristics, and also to provide the nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing the solvent, and further the lithium secondary battery using the nonaqueous electrolyte solution. When the total of (I), (II) and (III) is taken as 100% by volume, the solvent for the nonaqueous electrolyte solution of the lithium secondary battery contains 10 to 50% by volume of the non-fluorinated cyclic carbonate (I), 49.9 to 89.9% by volume of the non-fluorinated chain carbonate (II), and not less than 0.1% by volume but less than 30% by volume of the 1,2-dialkyl-1,2-difluoroethylene carbonate (III).
