    • PURPOSE:To enable high speed repetition operation and realize low output impedance, by combining a semiconductor switching element, a spark gap, a thyratron, a cross field tube, a tesla type step-up transformer and a pulse compression circuit. CONSTITUTION:A DC power is intermittently supplied to a tesla type step-up transformer T1, by a pulse switching means SW constituted of a semiconductor switching element and the like. Pulse compression circuits A1-A3 are connected in cascade, on the secondary side of the tesla type step-up transformer T1. When the voltage of a capacitor C3 reaches the maximum value VC3max, a saturable inductor SL2 rapidly saturates. The saturation inductance of the saturable inductor SL2 is smaller than that of the saturable inductor SL1. As a result, according to the time constant of a circuit constituted of the capacitor C3, the saturable inductor SL2 and a capacitor C4, the energy stored in the capacitor C3 is effectively delivered to the capacitor C4, and the width of pulse is compressed. By considering the shape of the saturable inductance SL3, its saturation inductance is reduced, so that the output impedance Z out of a power supply equipment can be made equal to or less than 1OMEGA.

    • PURPOSE:To control the switching operation against the current through a main conductor by winding the auxiliary conductor in addition to the main conductor around a saturable iron core and by making a bias current flow through an auxiliary conductor according to the current through the main conductor. CONSTITUTION:In an auxiliary conductor 22, e.g., an enameled wire is sound N turns around a saturable reactor 20 and a variable bias power source 23 is connected to both the ends of the auxiliary conductor 22. In the variable reactor, the switching operation is determined by magnetic flux density of the sum of the magnetic flux Ni1 generated by the current i1 in a main conductor 21 and the magnetic flux Ni2 generated by the bias current i2 in the auxiliary conductor 22. Accordingly if the positive bias current i1 is increased, a magnetic switch can be made ON even if the current in the main conductor 21 is reduced. If the negative bias current i2 is given, the magnetic flux density is made low due to the generation of the reverse direction magnetic flux Ni1 even if the current in the main conductor 21 is increased and the magnetic switch is not made ON.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease the remaining magnetism and to make the adjustment of the exiting impedance easy, by installing the winding on the assembled core in order to provide the exiting impedance necessary for the function and to decrease the remaining magnetism, the assembled iron core for winding is composed of two cores: the one having the closed magnetic circuit and the other having the air-gap. CONSTITUTION:The assembled core 4 is composed of two kinds of cores: the one is the core 1 having the closed magnetic circuit which makes the load as light as possible in case of the rated voltage, and the other is the core 2 having air-gap 2a which makes the remaining magnetism low, keeps the necessary impedance in case of the abnormal voltage, and makes the adjustment of the exiting impedance easy. On the assembled core 4, the winding 3 with the prescribed resistance is installed for adjustment of the exiting impedance. The saturable reactor in use for the instrument transformer connected to the direct ground system is composed of inductance and resistance. When the resonance occurs, the fractional harmonic wave makes the reactor saturate with direct current, and the current flows through resistance. The adjustment of the exiting impedance which suppresses the resonance by the increase of load can be easily achieved by the adjustment of the air-gap 2a of the core 2.

CONSTITUTION:In case a DC superposing current flowing into a choke coil is a DC superposing current value or less where the ring-shaped wound iron core 12 having no gap does not show magnetic saturation by providing a gap to a part of sectional area of iron core of ring-shaped iron core, permeability of the ring-shaped wound iron core becomes equal to a sum of the permeabilities of the ring-shaped wound iron core 11 having a gap and that 12 having no gap, and an inductance of the choke coil becomes a value corresponding to a value of DC superposing current in the range from 0 to I1. Next, when a DC superposing current of choke coil increases and the ring-shaped rolled iron core 12 having no gap is saturated magnetically, a choke coil has an inductance determined by the permeability of the ring-shaped wound iron core 11 having a gap and allowing the DC superposing current to become equal to a value corresponding to the range from I1 to I2.
