SOLUTION: In the system for discovering a stolen vehicle 12 through a communication satellite (CS) 18, in a managing center for managing steal, a vehicle search number containing the registration number of the stolen vehicle is transmitted to the CS 18, and that information is transmitted over all the country by the CS 18. Then, the stolen vehicle, which receives that vehicle search signal, detects its own position from a GPS and returns that position information and a position notice signal to the CS 18, and the CS 18 transmits that position notice signal to the managing center 14. In the managing center 14, that position information is reported to the police.
