    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a working oil quantity of a striking mechanism and reduce an energy consumption amount at the time when light striking is performed at a weak point even if striking power is small. SOLUTION: A rock drill is provided with a striking mechanism striking a shank rod 2 and a chuck driver bush 13 transmitting thrust force on the shank rod 2. A front damping piston 4 in which thrust force is smaller than that of a rock drill body 1 and a rear damping piston 5 in which the thrust force is larger than that of the rock drill body 1 are disposed rearward of the chuck driver bush 13. In the case, an oil groove 44 is provided on the front damping piston 4, the rear damping piston 5 is at an advancement position, and when the front damping piston 4 is at a position where it is advanced to the rear damping piston 5, oil drain holes 54, 55 allowing the high pressure circuit of the striking mechanism to communicate with a drain circuit 8 through the oil groove 44 are provided on the rear damping piston 5.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the reduction of the operating pressure when a rotary mechanism is independently operated. SOLUTION: A driving high-pressure passage 11 is connected to a hydraulic pump 4, and a driving low-pressure passage 12 is connected to a tank 5. The forward side passage 21 and the reverse side passage 22 of a rotary mechanism 2 are connected to a rotation operation passage 24 branched from the driving high-pressure passage 11 and to a rotation return passage 25 branched from the driving low-pressure passage 12 via a rotation direction selector valve 23. The forward side passage 31 and the reverse side passage 32 of a feed mechanism 3 are connected to a feed operation passage 34 branched from the driving high-pressure passage 11 and a feed return passage 35 branched from the driving low-pressure passage 12 via a feeding direction selector valve 33. A rotating pressure setting passage 52 connecting the feed operation passage 34 and the feed return passage 35 via a relief valve 51 when the feeding direction selector valve 33 is set to the neutral position is provided.
