    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition excellent in a printing quality, good in a record-retaining performance, excellent in metal corrosion prevention and useful for an ink jet printing method by including an azine-based coloring agent and a phosphorous compound for preventing metal corrosion. SOLUTION: This ink composition for an ink jet printing method comprising heating an ink solid at room temperature and subsequently jetting the melted ink on a recording medium to form recording dots contains (A) an azine-based coloring agent (preferably a nigrosine dye) and (B) a metal corrosion-preventing phosphorous compound (e.g. triisodecyl phosphite). The component A preferably contains in an amount of 0.5-5 wt.%, and the component B preferably contains in an amount of >=3 wt.%, especially 0.05-1 wt.%. Carnauba wax is preferably added to the vehicle of the objective composition. A vegetable wax, a higher fatty acid or the like is preferably further added in addition to the carnauba wax. The melt viscosity of the ink on printing is preferably controlled to 5-15 mPa.s, and the viscosity of the ink at room temperature is also preferably controlled to 10,000 mPa.s.
