摘要： PURPOSE:To conduct the positioning displacement adjustment of a mounting support member to a heat sink member easily and rapidly by utilizing the relative contacting positions of the heat sink member and a projection section for the mounting support member as a reference position. CONSTITUTION:A mounting support member 38 can be displaced in the front and rear direction, the vertical direction, the left and the right direction, etc., to a heat sink member 34 by bringing a projection section 44 in the mounting support member 38 along a straight line into contact with the heat sink member 34. Even when the mounting support member 38 is used as a fine adjustment base, the mounting support member 38 is maintained under a contacting state at all times with the heat sink member 34 by the projection section 44 when the mounting support member is displaced to the heat sink member 34, thus allowing alignment displacement adjustment by employing the relative contacting positions of the heat sink member 34 and the projection section 44 as a reference position on the positioning operation of a semiconductor laser chip 30 and a spherical lens 36.

The member is displaced with respect to the member 34 to position the chip 30 and the lens 38 on the optical axis, and the member 34 is, after the positioning, physically secured to the member 40 in the container 48. For example, the members 34 and 40 are physically secured by soldering or laser welding, etc.

The member 42 is displaced longitudinally of the member 38, longitudinally of the hole 48 and circumferentially of the protrusion 46 to position the chip 34 and the lens 40 on an optical axis, and the protrusion 46 is, after the positioning, physically secured, for example, by soldering or laser welding to the member 42 in the hole 48.

Then, resin 9 is loaded to the area surrounded by the inside surface 1a of the nonsoldering part of the ferrule, the inside surface 2a of the noncaulked part of the supporting body 2 and the terminal part 3a of the coat 5 from an injection hole 11.

CONSTITUTION:Two ferrule end surfaces are made to abut on each other by the adapter which has an axial hole 106' into which a ferrule 103 for holding an optical fiber is inserted and the storage hole 106 where the housing 100 containing the fixed ferrule 103 is stored at the periphery of the hole 106'. The housing 100 is molded out of synthetic resin and provided with at least two arm parts 102 for clamping outside and clamping projections 104 at right angles of the directions of elastic deformation of the arm parts 102, and the recessed parts 105 that the projections engage are formed in the storage hole 106 of the adapter to attach and detach the housing to and from the adapter by the elastic deformation of the arm parts 102. External tensile force operates to compress the projections 104, so the arm parts 102 never deform elastically. Consequently, neither a shift in axial center nor the falling of the housing from the adapter is caused.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of an optical connector and to decrease the number of parts by forming an elastic member for clamping so that a plug-side housing is molded of synthetic resin and plural slits are formed at the tip part, and inserting the member into an external housing by inward elastic deformation. CONSTITUTION:A ferrule 21 is applied with necessary surface pressure by a compression coil spring 23 and fixed in the plug side housing 20, and plural slits 26 are formed at the left-side end part of the housing 20 to form the elastic member 30 for clamping, so that the member is able to deform inward elastically. This member 30 is provided with projections 27 and when the housing 20 is inserted into the external housing 22, the member 30 deforms inward elastically to contract and restores itself of its original state at the position of the stepped engagement part 27 of the housing 22, thereby fixing the housing 20 in the housing 22. A jack-side sleeve 29 intrudes into an insertion hole 31 and serves as a guide when a plug and a jack are engaged, thereby performing efficient optical coupling.
