摘要： PURPOSE: To keep required characteristics and at the same time shorten the total length by fixing a central housing containing a ballast and an electric starting circuit to the side surface of a set of H type double axis discharge tubes extending upward from a base part in a V shape through a connection pin. CONSTITUTION: A low pressure mercury discharge lamp 10 has a base part 12 continuing to a screw type fixing part 14. A set of 7W, H-type double axis discharge tubes 16, 18 are extended upward from the base part 12. The side surfaces of the discharge tubes 16, 18 come in contact with the side surface of wedge-shaped central housing 22. The housing 22 houses a choke or a ballast and an electric starting circuit. The housing 22 has connection pins 24, and the pins 24 are inserted into a socket 26 extending from the central part of the base part 12 in the axial direction. The housing 22 is preferably coated with metal which reflects light. The metal coating protects a control circuit from the disturbance as a shield.

摘要： PURPOSE:To change the luminescent color of a fluorescent lamp, by changing the spectral distribution of ultraviolet rays radiated by enclosed gas by a simple circuit. CONSTITUTION:A power source 1 and a fluorescent lamp 2 are provided in a fluorescent lamp device in which luminescent color is changed. The power source 1 has a pluse oscillating means 3 and a continuous wave generating means 4. A phosphor, in which luminescent color is changed by excitation wavelength, is applied to the fluorescent lamp 2. The fluorescent lamp 2 is enclosed with one or plural kinds of gas, in which the spectral distribution of radiated ultraviolet rays is changed by a discharge condition. The enclosed gas in the fluorescent lamp 2 is discharged by a pluse wave and a continuous wave to change the spectral distribution of radiated ultraviolet rays, changing the luminescent color of a fluorescent lamp. Consequently the luminescent color of a fluorescent lamp can be changed by performing switching to the pulse wave and the continuous wave.

CONSTITUTION:The lighting circuit 16 consisting of an inverter is connected to a cathode tube 14 and a temp. compensation circuit 17 consisting of a variable output type three-terminal regulator and thermistor, etc., is connected to this lighting circuit 16. The variable output type three-terminal regulator can set an output voltage by the thermistor and since the resistance value of the thermistor has a negative temp. characteristic, the output voltage Vout changes according to a change in the ambient temp. Then, a reference voltage is outputted up to the set temp. and the output voltage Vout drops when the temp. rises higher than the set temp. The input voltage VCC IN to the lighting circuit 16 changes eventually to change the output voltage VO of the lighting circuit 16. This output voltage is supplied to the cathode tube 14. The brightness of the cathode tube 14 can, therefore, be controlled at the time of the high temp. and the generation of heat in the cathode tube 14 is suppressed. The temp. of the LCD is thus lowered.
