    • PURPOSE:To enhance jamming-resistant capacity by transmitting a transmitting radio wave in each transmitting direction while taking the synchronism of operation timing by a timing controller and changing over transmission frequency in synchronous relation to beam scanning. CONSTITUTION:As a transmission antenna, a phased array antenna 1a is used and, as a receiving antenna, a digital beam forming antenna 7 is used. The antenna 7 consists of a receiver 4 equipped with a plurality of antenna elements 1b, 3 and a filter bag discriminating receiving frequency at every antenna element, an A/D converter 5 and an operation means 6 applying operational processing to a plurality of the signals from the converter 5 to discriminate transmitting radio waves from different directions at every directions. A timing controller 15 controls the operation timings of a beam scanning controller 2a, a frequency synthesizer 2b and the converter 5 to take the synchronism thereof and changes over the transmission frequency in each transmitting direction at every scanning at random to control the same.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a processing method further enhanced in azimuth angle determination accuracy, by forming two synthetic aperture beams so as to have a sharp notch at the time of the imaging processing of an echo signal and determining an azimuth angle by utilizing said notch. CONSTITUTION:The echo signal from an object obtained by synthetic aperture radar is preliminarily received and recorded and imaging processing is performed on the basis of this recording data by a correlation method. At this time, a reference function for forming two main beams (synthetic aperture beams) 2-1, 2-2 forming a sharp notch (null) N is fabricated. The echo signal and a transmission wave are subjected to operation processing on the basis of the reference function while taking correlation to form two main beams 2-1, 2-2 for synthesizing the sharp notch N equivalently. If there is an object in the notch direction, the image of the object is erased from an image and, therefore, the azimuth angle of the object is determined from this phenomenon.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the clutter suppression performance at the short-distance coverage region for the electronic scanning array radar by providing the beam covering the maximum necessary region plus the beam exclusive for the short-distance detection and then carrying out the detection through the sequential time-division switching of these beams. CONSTITUTION:For the electronic scanning array radar which combines the long- distance detection mode and the short-distance detection mode for suppression of the short-distance clutter in the time-division way, the beam featuring a high transmission pulse repetition frequency exclusive for the short-distance detection is provided newly by noticing the fact that the clutter is mainly concentrated in the short distance. In response to this, mobile target detector circuit 16 which is capable of switching between the long-distance MTI filter and the short-distance exclusive MTI filter is installed in place of the conventional mobile target detector circuit. Thus the output of the filter exclusive for the short-distance is adopted in preference for processing at signal process circuit 14 as to the short distance.
