    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent idle through a decrease in minimum engine speed and to allow a quick return to the drive of the driving wheels of the vehicle by providing an idle detection means for detecting that the driving wheels are at idle, and causing the amount of fuel injected to an internal combustion engine to decrease with the lapse of time if idle is detected. SOLUTION: This device, which controls using a power running control device 2 the amount of fuel injection of an internal combustion engine 1 such as a diesel engine and which runs the vehicle by transmitting the generated torque to driving wheels 4 via a power transmission device 3 such as a torque converter, has sensors 6, 7 for detecting the speeds of the driving wheels 4 and driven wheels 5, respectively, their detection signals being input to an idle detecting part 8. The idle detecting part 8 determines whether or not idle has occurred from sliding velocity, etc., and an idle determining part 9 determines whether or not idle control is required in accordance with idle detection information from the idle detecting part 8 and information output from the power running control device 2, a master controller 10, and a brake control device 11, and if the control is determined to be required, control is performed such that a command value for the amount of fuel injection is decrease with the lapse of time.

    • PURPOSE:To improve adhesion to rails in a wet condition by mounting a laser generating device for radiating at least one of the surface of the rails and the tread of each wheel on a vehicle and drying and cleaning the surface of the rails. CONSTITUTION:A laser generating device 4 is installed under the floor of a vehicle body 2 and its radiating port 5 is placed so as to radiate the surface of rails in front in the advancing direction of the vehicle. During the traveling of vehicle, e.g., at the time of rainfall, the laser generating device 4 is operated radiating laser 6 out of the radiating port 5 onto the rail surface, thereby momentarily drying up the rail surface to increase the adhesion coefficient between wheels 3 and rails 1 up to the value at the time of drying. Due to the radiation of the laser, not only water but also oil and other dirty material can be removed from the rail surface cleaning the rail surface. Hence, the slip of the wheels 3, etc., can be suppressed producing a large effect in improving vehicle performance.
