    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin type digital television broadcast receiver at low cost in which a user can enjoy a digital television broadcast in indoor free layout without requiring an external antenna connected by a cable, an indoor antenna protruding outside, and an external apparatus for receiving, repeating and resending broadcast waves to the receiver.
      SOLUTION: In the antenna, waveguide is composed of a sheet metal and copper foil on a printed circuit board, an insulating magnetic substance is packaged to close one of a pair of opening faces of the waveguide, the other opening is obliquely cut to expand an opening area and further, tuner elements are arranged at both sides with a middle portion of the other opening in between. Such antennas are arranged at both side terminals of the thin type television receiver to perform electronic tuning and phase synthetic diversity reception.

As a result, when the data of the detected antenna length and the data of the optimum antenna length are different, since a drive control signal to adjust the length of the antenna 4 to the optimum antenna length is outputted from the control section 8 to a motor 5, the length of the antenna 4 is adjusted automatically.

    • PURPOSE:To improve an S/N ratio and reception sensitivity by providing a motor-driving-signal sending means which controls the length of a pole antenna best to frequencies of transmission or reception selected by a frequency selecting means. CONSTITUTION:On a keyboard 1 provided to the dashboard, etc., of a vehicle, a changeover switch for switching receivers, such as an AM radio, an FM radio, and an amateur radio equipment, is provided. The output of the keyboard 1 is connected to an audio controller 2 wherein the receivers are incorporated. The controller 2 is provided with a motor-driving-signal transmitter, which detects the output of a potentiometer 5 outputting a voltage variable with the driven state of an antenna motor 3, i.e. the length of the pole of a pole antenna 4, thereby sending a signal which drives the motor so that the antenna 4 has length in accordance with the kind of the receiver or the reception wavelength of a received channel.
