    • PURPOSE:To heighten the clock frequency, by determining the expiration time from the counter value indicating the current time and the timer value not set to memorize the number of the timer into an RAM address as data. CONSTITUTION:A counter value indicating the current time on a counter 5 and a timer value set on a latch circuit 3 from outside through a common bus 7 are added up with an addition circuit 4 to determine the expiration time. Then, an RAM 6 memorizes the number of the timer as data at an address to be provided from the output of the addition circuit 4 through an address bus 2. Thereafter, the counter value indicating the time is read out sequentially from the RAM 6 as address to search the number of the timer expired thereby enabling the operation of the timer involved. Thus, a higher clock frequency can be obtained up to the value to be restricted by the RAM cycle time irrelevant to the number of timers.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent forgotten setting of any skipping day by a method wherein a means which determines whether or not the time comes in a proper before the last of skipping days is provided to prompt the setting of skip by lighting a display lamp when the output of the decision means is obtained. CONSTITUTION:A discrimination means 5 is provided to determine whether or nt the month or day to be counted by a time counting means comes in a proper period befre the last of the set skip days while a setting prompting means 6 is provided to prompt the setting of new skipping day by lighting a display lamp when the output of the discrimination means 5 is obtained. With such an arrangement, as the need for the setting of a new skipping day is indicated in a proper period before the last skipped day by the prompting means 6, forgotten setting of skipping days can be precluded regardless of any longer setting interval for skipping days through the year.

    • PURPOSE:To recognize clearly the contents of reservation through simple operation by announcing the contents of timer reservation as voice information through a voice synthesizing circuit, and changing the time display of a timer synchronously with the announcement. CONSTITUTION:A timer circuit 1 consists of a microcomputer and its recording part and timer part control the system controller 2 of a VTR and the channel selecting IC8 of a tuner to perform video recording based upon the contents of reservation. The time reservation and channel reservation of a TV program to be recorded are performed by using the timer key set and channel buttons 7 of an operation part 3. Times of the reservation (starting and ending times) are displayed numerically on a timer display part 4 and also announced as voice information by the voice synthesizing circuit 5 through a speaker 6. Consequently, the contents of the reservation are confirmed extremely clearly through simple operation.

CONSTITUTION:When a control circuit 1 rewrites a timer ON time memory 3 by the operation of a keyboard 8, the control circuit 1 reads out and writes the contents of a last source memory 11 into a source controlling memory 10. At this point, the source controlling memory 10 gives the same as the last source memory 11. The last source memory 11 has a source currently selected written thereinto. This memory is equivalent to a tuner, a deck, a player and the like in an audio stereo set and the last source to a band, a frequency and the like currently received in a tuner. This enables the rewriting of the contents of a memory for controlling sources simply by setting the time for turning ON or OFF of a programmable timer with the operation of a keyboard thereby ensuring the turning ON of the timer with the last source when turning ON it.
