    • PURPOSE:To provide a polypropylene sheet whose transparency is equivalent to that of a polyvinyl chloride sheet and that is excellent in rigidity, glossiness, etc., by melt extruding a crystalline polypropylene into a sheet, cooling quickly the sheet, and heat-treating the sheet at the melting point or below. CONSTITUTION:A sheet that is produced by melt extruding a crystalline polypropylene and that has an outer opacity of 5% or less is heat-treated at a temperature of 70 deg.C or over but lower than the melting point of the polypropylene to produce a substantially non-orientated polypropylene sheet that has the opacity of 7% or less, a surface glossiness of 100% or over, a second heat absorption peak on the temperature side lower than the melting peak, a tensional modulus of 15,000kg/cm , and a thickness of 100mum or over. To cool quickly the extruded transparent melt resin filmy body in a melted state is introduced in the direction of the flow of the cooling water to be cooled quickly generally to 100 deg.C or below. The heat treatment is carried out in a temperature range of 70 deg.C or higher but 10 deg.C lower than the melting point of the polypropylene using a heating roll, heating air, an inert liquid, etc.
