    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support for an oxygen separation membrane capable of easily manufacturing and with a high performance of gas diffusion, and an oxygen separation membrane having a high rate of oxygen permeability. SOLUTION: The support 12 comprises an inner circumferential wall 18, 16 ribs 20 protrusively provided on its outer circumferential plane, and an outer circumferential wall 16 so that an electrolyte membrane 14 is supported by the ribs 20 through the outer circumferential wall 16 in the oxygen separation membrane 10 having the electrolyte membrane 14 on the support 12, whereby gas flow channels 22 having a dimension corresponding to a mutual distance and a height of the ribs 20 are formed along the longitudinal direction between the electrolyte membrane 14 and the inner circumferential wall 18. Thus, the support 12 as a whole has a sufficiently high mechanical strength because the porous outer circumferential wall 16 is supported by the inner circumferential wall 18 and the ribs 20 although the outer circumferential wall 16 is constituted by a thickness dimension of about 0.2-1.0 (mm).
