    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery of a simple structure capable of forcibly discharging the battery as release of metal-made pressure-release valve as a trigger.
      SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a metal outer package material housing a cathode, an anode, a separator and nonaqueous electrolyte electrically connected with the cathode or the anode of either polarity, a metal-made pressure release valve formed at the metal outer package material, capable of cleaving with internal pressure rise of the metal outer package material and electrically connected with the metal outer package material, a lead wire arranged insulated from the metal outer package material and with a part of it electrically connected with the electrode of the other polarity connected with the metal outer package material positioned in opposition to the pressure releasing valve, and a resistive element intercalated by the lead wire with a resistance value of 0.01 Ω or more and 50 Ω or less.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery light in weight and excellent in output characteristics, wherein leakage of a nonaqueous electrolyte and infiltration of moisture from a case material are considerably suppressed.
      SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes: a electrode group having a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a laminate including a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; a plurality of positive electrode current collecting leads 11 one side ends of which are connected to the positive electrode of the electrode group, and the other ends of which are extended from the electrode group; a plurality of negative electrode current collecting leads 13 the other ends of which are similarly extended in the opposite direction of the positive electrode current collecting leads 11; a positive electrode terminal 12 extended to the outside while having a flat plate-shaped current collecting lead connecting part to which the end parts of a plurality of the positive electrode current collecting leads 11 are connected and passing through the sealed part of the case material; and a negative electrode terminal 14 similarly extended to the outside. The laminate has a structure rolled flat, and the length rate L1/L2 of L1, L2 in the figure is ≥0.3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable long service life of an assembled battery by suppressing variation in charging state between single batteries.
      SOLUTION: A protection device has a sampling unit 2 including a plurality of sampling switches capable of individually sampling voltages of secondary batteries of the assembled battery 1; a holding unit 3 for holding the sampled voltages by the sampling unit 2; a multiplexer 4 for sequentially reading the holding voltages indicated by the holding unit 3 and outputting each voltage through a common output node; and a microcontroller 6 for measuring the charging state of the assembled battery 1 from the voltage of the common output node of the multiplexer 4 during a measuring period in a predetermined measuring cycle, simultaneously turning on/off all the sampling switches of the sampling unit 2 in a measuring period, and repeatedly turning on/off a selected sampling switch in accordance with the charging state in a period other than the measuring period.
