    • PURPOSE:To obtain a small sized band-pass filter having a wide band pass characteristic and a quick attenuation characteristic by providing four ridge parts which are symmetrically arranged on the inside face of a composite mode cavity resonator and project in directions orthogonal to one another. CONSTITUTION:The TE10 mode wave having an electric field E which is made incident from an input/output waveguide 2a is coupled to the TE11 wave having an electric field A in a cylindrical cavity resonator 1a provided with ridge parts 7 through an input/output coupling hole 3a. This mode wave is coupled to the orthogonal TE111, mode wave having the electric field B by the effect of a coupling adjustment screw 5a, and further, the TE111 mode wave in the resonator 1a is coupled to the TE111 mode wave having electric fields C and D in a cylindrical cavity resonator 1b through a cruciform coupling hole 4. The mode wave having the electric field D is coupled to the TE111 mode wave in an input/output waveguide 2b through an input/output coupling hole 3b and is taken out as the output. If all of TE111, mode waves are adjusted by a resonance frequency f0, most of incident waves on the waveguide 2a is reflected in the case of a frequency other than the frequency f0 and is not outputted to the waveguide 2b.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease the deterioration of an electric characteristic with respect to frequency change by constituting a branch waveguide having an electric length of pi/2 by a slit provided to the projection of a main and a sub waveguide and a square waveguide provided between the main and the sub waveguide. CONSTITUTION:Projections 3 are formed to a part of a broad face of a guide wall of the main waveguide 1 and the sub waveguide 2 (ridge waveguides). The waveguides 1, 2 are connected by a square waveguide 4 and a slit 5 is provided to the projection 3 at an interval of electric length 90 deg.. Then the branch waveguide 6 is constituted by the waveguide 4 and the slit 5. Since the electromagnetic field of the waveguides 1, 2 is concentrated onto the middle part of the waveguide 6 because of the effect of the projections 3, the electric connecting point with the waveguides 1, 2 is the tip of the projection 3. Further, the electromagnetic field is concentrated on the middle part of the slit 5 and the effect of the side walls is less and the cut-off frequency is nearly zero. Since the frequency change in the electric length of the waveguides 1, 2 and the waveguide 6 is small, the waveguide coupler is obtained, in which the frequency change in the electric characteristic is less.

    • PURPOSE:To realize the adjusting function of a capacitive load at the side face of an inner conductor open end and the coupling quantity by providing a conductor connected to an outer conductor at the open end between the inner conductors. CONSTITUTION:Conductors 4a, 4b are provided close to the inner conductors at the open end between the inner conductors 2b, 2c and between the inner conductors 2c, 2d respectively and connected to the outer conductor 1 electrically and mechanically. The capacitive load at the open end is realized at the side face of the inner conductors 2b-2d by the air gap between the conductors 4a, 4b and the inner conductors 2b-2d. The static capacitance is adjusted by the width W of the conductors 4a, 4b and the length of the inner conductors 2b-2d is shortened by the 1/4 wavelength by the effect of the static capacitance. The coupling quantity among the inner conductors 2b-2d is adjusted mainly by the distance of the inner conductors 2b-2d and the length L of the conductors 4a, 4b.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in the VSWR over a wide and and to extract an incident wave with a required amplitude and phase distribution by making each main line length tying each coupler different and providing a line correcting the electric length of the main line between a coupler and an output terminal. CONSTITUTION:A part of power of an incident wave to input terminal P0 is extracted from output terminals P1-P5 on the way of propagation through the couplers 1-5 sequentially via the main lines 6-9, and the amplitude of the power wave is formed into a required amplitude distribution by changing the coupling amount to the couplers 1-5. Further, phases phi1-phi2 of the extracted power wave are decided depending on the electric length of the lines 6-9 and of the correction lines 11-15. Thus, the deterioration in the VSWR of a series feeding circuit eliminated over a broad band frequency because the reflection of the couplers 1-5 is not overlapped in phase at a specific frequency due to the different length of the lines 6-9 and the fluctuation of the amplitude and phase of the waves extracted at the terminals P1-P5 is reduced.
