SOLUTION: A front-side grip part 104 and a rear-side grip part 116 are respectively provided on the front side and the rear side, in a pull-out direction on a line X1 passing through the center in the width direction of a drum unit 21 that is attached freely detachably to the body casing 2, that is, through the center of gravity of the drum unit 21. When pulling out the drum unit 21 from the body casing 2, the front-side grip part 104 is set as a grip; and when the drum unit 21 is lifted after it has been detached, the front-side grip part 104 and the rear-side grip part 116 are gripped, whereby the drum unit 21 is easily lifted up.     • PURPOSE:To enable exact detection of the limit at which a process cartridge to be exchanged is usable by generating an alarm by a driving means in accordance with the amt. of the cartridge to be used and displaying the life of the process cartridge. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 3 and image forming means such as a developing device, cleaning device, electrostatic charger or the like disposed around the same are united to one body, and are enclosed in a light shielding plate, thereby constituting a process cartridge 17. When the drum 3 makes one turn, a pin 31 projecting to the side face thereof moves a ratchet wheel 32 by one tooth when the wheel 32 makes one turn, a pin 34 projecting to side face thereof moves a rachet wheel 35 by one tooth. A disc 37 fixed to the wheel 35 displays the life of the cartridge by showing the red color of a color band 38 in the observation opening; at the same time, the projecting part 37a connects electrode terminals 39, 40 and lights an LED by the biasing voltage of the developing device. The service limit of the cartridge is thus exactly detected.

    • PURPOSE:To form a supporting device for an image forming body which can be handled easily without any special skillfulness by providing a cylindrical rotating member which is held by a receiving frame provided in a free taking-in and taking-out state, and a bearing mechanism which is provided to the receiving frame and retain the support shaft of the cylindrical rotating member to the receiving frame by the elasticity of a spring in a free unlocking state. CONSTITUTION:When a photosensitive body 13 is set in a copying machine, the receiving frame is drawn out firstly to lock one end support shaft 14 of the photosensitive body 13 to the base plate of the receiving frame 12 and the other end support shaft 14 in the support shaft insertion groove 23 of the bearing mechanism 15, and when it is further pressed down, the tip of this support shaft 14 pressed the taper surface 24 of a sliding member 19, which is moved against the elastic force of the spring 19 to engage the support shaft 14 with the center hole of a bearing 18. Consequently, the bearing 18 engages the support shaft 14 by the elastic force of the spring 20 to fit the photosensitive drum 13 to the receiving frame 12. This receiving frame 12 is pressed in the copying machine body 11 together with the photosensitive drum 13 to complete the setting operation of the photosensitive drum 13.
