    • PURPOSE:To provide a four-cycle engine making the locker ratio of each intake valve approximately equal in the case of disposing plural intake valves in the mutually shifted state with simple structure in which the shapes of locker arms and cams are approximately common. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate valve among intake valves 5 is disposed being shifted outside of a cylinder (a) compared to the other valves 5 from the side view. The upper ends of the mutually shifted valves are respectively inclined toward the outside of the cylinder (a), and the upper ends of these intake valves are mutually brought in proximity from the side view. One end of a locker arm 14 is brought into contact with the upper end of each intake valve, and the other end, extended toward the outside of the cylinder, of the locker arm is supported coaxially. A camshaft 9 is then engaged with the locker arm, with the fixed distance placed from the support part.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent combustion from being unstabilized and smoothen the operation at low speed by juxtaposing three intake passages for introducing intake air to three intake valves in a cam shaft direction, and providing a control valve which is closed at low speed operation, particularly, on at least either one of the intake passages on both sides. CONSTITUTION:Three intake valves 20a-20c are provided on one side of a face passing a cylinder central line and parallel to a cam shaft. Three intake passages 40a-40c for guiding intake air to the three intake valves 20a-20c are juxtaposed in the cam shaft direction, and the central intake passage 40b is full opened in the full operating speed area. On the other hand, a control valve 44 which is closed at low speed operation is provided on at least either one of the intake passages 40a, 40c on both sides. Thus, new air is guided into a combustion chamber mainly from the central intake passage 40b through the central intake valve 20b. Thus, the combustion is prevented from being unstabilized by the spitting of exhaust air, and the operation at low speed can be smoothed.

    • PURPOSE:To improve valve overlap and improve the fuel consumption and output by pointing the centerline of a fuel injection valve, provided in a communicating chamber where each intake passage meets, to the farther side from the center face than a straight line connecting the centers of the head part side end faces in intake valves on both sides. CONSTITUTION:Three intake valves 20a-20c are disposed on one side of the center face beta including the cylinder centerline alpha and parallel to camshafts 22, 24, and two exhaust valves 18 are disposed on the other side of the center face beta. Among three intake valves, the intake valves 20a, 20c on both sides are positioned closer to the center face beta than the center intake valve 20b. In this case, a communicating chamber 46 where each of intake passages 40b... communicated with the respective intake valves 20a-20c meets is disposed at the side part of a cylinder head 12. A fuel injection valve 48 for injecting fuel is disposed in the communicating chamber 46, and the centerline (z) of the fuel injection valve 48 points to the farther side from the center face beta than a straight line (x) connecting the centers of the head part side end faces in the intake valves 20a, 20c on both sides.
