摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance by enhancing radiation ability of a combustion chamber, and to improve durability and reliability through the increase of the wear strength of a part. SOLUTION: In a four-cycle engine, a cylinder head 3 is made of an Al alloy and valve sets 16 and 17 arranged at the peripheral edges of intake and exhaust ports 12a and 13a are formed of a joint type valve seat. A piston 7 made of an Al alloy is slidably fitted in a sleeveless cylinder 6 formed at the cylinder block 3 made of an Al alloy. This constitution increases a quantity of heat transferred through intake and exhaust valves 14 and 15 and the joint type valve seats 16 and 17 directly to the cylinder head 3 and a quantity of heat transferred through the piston 7 directly to a cylinder block 2 and improves radiation ability of a combustion chamber S.

SOLUTION: An engine 1 is so constituted that any necessary gas replacement may be carried out by opening/closing, by valves at proper timing, ports 10, 11 on the suction air side and the exhaust gas side opened to a combustion chamber 12. In this case, the combustion dome of a cylinder head 3 for forming the combustion chamber and the head part of a piston are formed in spherical surface recesses respectively, while the combustion chamber is formed in a convex lens configuration and more than three suction air ports 10 opened to this combustion chamber are provided and the port axial lines L1 of both sides suction air ports 10 are pointed to the bore inside in relation to the central suction air port 10, so that the port axial line L1 of the both sides suction air ports 10 are inclined, by a specific angle, to the port axial line L1 of the central suction air port 10.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent combustion from being unstabilized and smoothen the operation at low speed by juxtaposing three intake passages for introducing intake air to three intake valves in a cam shaft direction, and providing a control valve which is closed at low speed operation, particularly, on at least either one of the intake passages on both sides. CONSTITUTION:Three intake valves 20a-20c are provided on one side of a face passing a cylinder central line and parallel to a cam shaft. Three intake passages 40a-40c for guiding intake air to the three intake valves 20a-20c are juxtaposed in the cam shaft direction, and the central intake passage 40b is full opened in the full operating speed area. On the other hand, a control valve 44 which is closed at low speed operation is provided on at least either one of the intake passages 40a, 40c on both sides. Thus, new air is guided into a combustion chamber mainly from the central intake passage 40b through the central intake valve 20b. Thus, the combustion is prevented from being unstabilized by the spitting of exhaust air, and the operation at low speed can be smoothed.

A fuel injection valve 48 for injecting fuel is disposed in the communicating chamber 46, and the centerline (z) of the fuel injection valve 48 points to the farther side from the center face beta than a straight line (x) connecting the centers of the head part side end faces in the intake valves 20a, 20c on both sides.
