    • PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to change the specification for each optical fiber to be used by coupling an optical fiber and a photosensitive or a light emitting element through a guide beam fiber in the same diameter as the narrowest fiber among those connected with an optical coupler. CONSTITUTION:A guide beam fiber 5 consisting of a core 5a and clad 5b is provided between a housing 2a and an optical connector coupler 2b and positioning should be made with a spacer so that the core 5a and an optical fiber 4 are aligned on the same axis. Moreover, as a fiber 5, the narrowest fiber among the optical fibers connected to an optical coupler 20 is used. Therefore, when the fiber 4 is coupled with an optical element 2 by the optical coupler 20, the optical element 1 is coupled with the end face of the fiber 5 without relation to the core diameter 4a and the coupling coefficient can substantially be kept constant without relation to the core diameter of connected fiber 4.

    • PURPOSE:To detect a supply bobbin residual quantity accurately without causing a malfunction by using a bobbin having a barrel surface whole reflectance is lower than that on the surface of a metallic wire. CONSTITUTION:A material formed by carrying out pear-skin delustering painting on a barrel surface is used as a supply bobbin 1. An address sensor 7 is fixed outside of a stranding machine, and a light emitting body and a light receiving body are arranged on a recumbent U-shaped both side wall, and a shielding plate of a rotary cage 5 passes between them. On the other hand, a reflection type detector is fixed in a position having a constant angle to the sensor 7. When the cage 5 rotates and the plate 6 enters the wall of the sensor 7, an optical path from the light emitting body 10 to the light receiving body 11 is intercepted. A switch of the detector 8 is turned on by means of the signal. When a wire quantity being wound round the bobbin 1 is abundant, the detector 8 detects reflected light caused by a metallic wire, and rotation of the cage 5 is continued, and a wire is stranded. However, when a metallic wire residual quantity of the bobbin 1 is decreased and radiation light to the bobbin comes to be radiated to a barrel surface of the bobbin, a reflected light quantity is decreased and can not be detected, so that the rotation of the cage 5 is stopped.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify the manufacture process and reduce the manufacture cost and to relax demands for axis shift characteristics of the optical connector by using a plastic ferrule which is molded integrally with an optical fiber by an insert molding system. CONSTITUTION:A couple of ferrules 2a and 2b are molded integrally with the optical fiber by the insert molding system which uses engineering plastic. Thus, they are constituted in one body to omit a process for mounting the ferrules on the optical fiber. The ferrules 2a and 2b are supported in parallel while penetrating one side wall of a connector case 3, and then coupled with a transmitter receiver. Further, sufficient characteristics can be maintained even when a plastic optical fiber is used, so the plastic optical fiber which is relatively large in diameter is used to offer an inexpensive connector and also relax the demands for the axis shift characteristics of the optical connector.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain hydrotaxis-preventing structure requiring no huge plant and equipment investment by softening a rubber tape with an organic solvent after the rubber tape is wound on the outer circumference of a stranded wire forming a core at the time of stranding conductor element wires, further stranding the conductor element wires thereon followed by roll compression, and charging a rubber material between the conductor element wires. CONSTITUTION:A rubber tape 21 is wound on the outer circumference of a stranded wire 11 forming a core at the time of element wire stranding and then softened with an organic solvent 22, and conductor element wires 1 are stranded thereon and roll-compressed, and then a rubber material 2 is charged between the element wires of the stranded wire conductor. To prevent hydrotaxis between conductor segments 3 and of a conductor binder, a semiconductive rubber tape 21 or a tape and code on which a semiconductive weir compound having characteristic of swelling at the time of water absorption is applied to charge the material in the gap. Hence, the work can be manually practiced, no huge plant and equipment investment is required, and hydrotaxispreventing structure can be easily obtained.
