摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs while maintaining print quality by changing a heating amount and/or a heating timing of a thermal head in accordance with a change of a relative movement speed when the thermal head or an object to be printed is relatively moved to apply print images. SOLUTION: In a tape-printing apparatus, a tape T is drawn out of a tape reel 52 and an ink ribbon R is drawn out of a ribbon reel 53. After the ink ribbon overlaps and runs with the tape T, the ink ribbon is taken to a ribbon wind reel 54. A thermal head 7 is driven synchronously with the simultaneous transfer of the tape T and ink ribbon R, thus carrying out printing. At this time, a platen-driving shaft and a wind driving shaft are rotated by a DC motor used as a common power source. A heat amount or heat timing of the thermal head 7 is changed in accordance with a change of a relative movement speed of the tape T to be printed with respect to the thermal head 7, thereby improving print quality.

摘要： PURPOSE: To propose a method for driving/controlling a thermal head properly at all times without being influenced by the temperature of an ambience, a heating state of the thermal head, etc. CONSTITUTION: When a tape-printing apparatus is driven to print, an initial temperature T1 immediately after a power source is turned ON and a temperature T2 immediately before the printing are detected, and further a temperature T3 (i) of an ambience of a thermal head is detected every printing time. When a difference of the initial temperature T1 and the temperature T2 is small, the temperature T2 immediately before the printing is employed as the ambience temperature to control the time while the electricity is supplied to the thermal head. If the difference is large, the initial temperature T1 is employed as the ambience temperature thereby to reduce the feed time of electricity to the thermal head. If the temperature T3 (i) is increased with a large rate during the printing, the temperature T2 is adopted as the ambience temperature to reduce the feeding time. In the case where the temperature is raised to a temperature indicative of an overheating state during the printing, the thermal head is stopped.
